the gift of life

ugh. my scanner doesn't like scanning things in large resolutions without corrupting the file, so i had to take a picture of this and try and fix it in photoshop. i'm not sure i'm satisfied with this result. might update later with the original, since fixing probably just made the thing worse

anyway.

this was the first assignment of my sophomore year drawing 2 class. the idea was to create a surrealist environment (involving 2 realities, an out of proportion animal, and a hand) by piecing together different resources to create our own, unique idea. i'm not religious in any way, but i am fascinated by life, which is what inspired this one.

it went to the art show, but didn't win anything. my stupid self portrait painting got an award, which pisses me off to no end. ugh.
